Do you remember when we travelled from the north of Vietnam all the way to South on The Byke? Well, that was an epic, difficult, emotional, stunning trip.

Around the first half of our trip we helped another biker that hit a truck and fell off of his bike. He came off of his bike and we stayed to help with water until his brother caught up with him to help him out.

Whilst we were in a city by the coast called Vung Tao, our accommodation was cancelled last minute, it was midday in the Vietnam sun and standing outside a hotel’s shade sweating our asses off to organise alternative accommodation. The daughter of the establishment noticed us there and eventually offered us a beautiful room we could spend 2 nights in, it was a perfect room. The next day we went down to the hotel’s bar for some coffee and met owners of the bar. A familiar face was chatting to us and it took me about 20minutes to place the face, I saw his helmet on the bar figured I would just ask him if he perhaps was touring Vietnam the previous year and had an accident. And low and behold.. the accidental hotel we stayed in was the guy we helped the previous year.

A year later and 1500km from where we had our “accidental” encounter we found ourselves sleeping in Mark’s hotel. Mark has almost fully recovered from that accident and his bike .. well, it’s on a slow road to being fixed. What a crazy, crazy, world!
